The 4E's to saving a Risk Culture | RESILIENCE POD

Writer's picture: Rina SinghRina Singh

A while back, on my never ending obsession of finding inspiring TED Talks, I came across one by Morgan Spurlock. Probably the most riskiest guy in action , (think back to his Mc D's diet) , however, that aside, at the end of his talk he said something which stuck to me and that was;

"When you train your employees to be risk averse, then you’re preparing your whole company to be reward challenged"

What did he mean exactly?

Well, it all boils down to what I call my 4E's

   Encourage Risk    Embrace Fear    Embrace Risk    Embrace transparency

It's trending: risk management is popular but still, today, in organisations to get the message across the board, influence risk culture (my favourite part) is due to the lack of the 4E's.

Do we want a company full of employees who are conditioned like 'Pavlovs dogs'

(Flash-backing to AS Level Psychology class)..

The answer is... NO!

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"Loved working with rina and recording the podcast. Her enthusiasm was infectious, as was her knowledge of business continuity. She was very easy and relaxing to work with. Great output. I have since recorded this one, I have introduced two organisations  to work with her. If you get the opportunity to work with her jump at it!"
